The Christmas Tree

There are many stories that surround the tree,

We joyfully decorate at Christmas.

But no matter what or who you believe,

The story is always truly about Jesus.

The tree itself points the way,

Upward towards heaven and God.

The branches are always and forever green,

And represent our eternity with Him in awe.

Some think Martin Luther started the tradition,

Of having light lit by a candle on the tree.

But whatever decorations you decide on,

Its celebration is holy for you and me.

Every year millions of trees,

Are sold to us to decorate our living room.

It gives us focus, remembrance, and joy,

Of an innocent baby born from a virgin womb.
