Pretty Flowers

Pretty flowers in my yard.

They come as sweet surprises.

They are in all different colors,

And many shapes and sizes.

I love the orange and yellow ones,

And I love the purple ones, too.

All of them standing so straight and tall,

Just for me and you.

Pretty flowers in my yard.

I love to bring you in.

Where I can look in awe of you.

And feel myself blessed within.

God gave us the pretty flowers.

Because He doesn’t want us sad.

But I’m sure He sees our hearts.

And sometimes gets unhappy and mad.

So, do not let the beauty hide,

Around you where you are.

Be sure to look because it’s there.

And it is closer than the stars.

We do not always see the beauty around us, especially right now, with this election, the pandemic, and all the social divisions going on. We might have to look outside of all the chaos in the quiet places. The quiet places like where the flowers grow. The beauty is not hidden. All we have to do is look for it. It is there. And when you find it be sure to give credit where credit is due.

Ecclesiastes 3:11 (NIV), “He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.”

Thank you, God! Thank you for showing me beauty in the world and for eternity. All I need to do is see it and look with open eyes and a longing, seeking, heart. And thank You for making everything beautiful in its own time, in Your own time.
